|

Thanks to everyone that sent in their money and reserved their tee-shirts.
I know not everyone did so I ordered extra just for you.
It will be a busy day in Downtown Vallejo during the party. I encourage everyone to
arrive early an visit our great Farmer's Market all along Georgia Street.
FAQ's
Q - What building is the party taking place in?
A - The building is actually the old Crowley's Dept. Store and now is our friend, Bill
Neads', furniture store. He has been remodeling the building for several years and
it looks fantastic. The actual address is 436 Georgia and not 434 like the invite
says. But we will have a banner and balloon outside. It is a building that cannot be
missed.
Guests will be seated on his furniture in living room and dining room
arrangements. This will make for a unique party experience.
Q - Where do I park?
A - There are public parking lots on York St. one block parallel to Georgia. There
should also be street parking on Sonoma Blvd. as well as surrounding streets.
Georgia Street will be blocked off from early morning till 2:00 p.m. for the Farmer's
Market.
Q - What is happening after the main party is over at 5:00?
A - Mel is hosting an after-party at his house located at 449 Gilcrest Ave., but park
in the Fellowship United Methodist Church parking lot behind the house at 140
Ladera Drive.
There are also local attractions such as Marine World which is hosting Kababayan
Day with Filipino entertainment. Benicia is also having their annual Waterfront
Festival and Jet Ski Competition.

Things to do in Vallejo and surrounding area
Eat - Vallejo and neighboring Benicia, Crockett, and Napa, have an enormous number of fine and
not-so-fine restaurants.
Shop - Although there is not a shopping mall in Vallejo, that doesn't mean there is no shopping. We
have Seafood City Shopping Center, an all Filipino/Asian shopping mecca. It's anchored by the huge
Seafood City grocery store, Max's of Manila, Chow King, Red Ribbon, Valerio Bakery and a host of other
stores.
In the area we have two Outlet Malls, one in Vacaville about 30 minutes away and the other in Napa
about 20 minutes away.
Farmer's Markets - Vallejo has a Wed nite Farmer's market and celebration in our historic downtown.
Live music on two stages, food, and vendors. On Thursday nite, Benicia also has a Farmer's Market. But
the biggee is on Saturday in downtown Vallejo. Here you will find fresh Ilokano vegetables grown by real
Ilokanos. Vendors also sell fresh oysters, fish, balut, penoy, baked goods, and lots of other goodies.
Gamble - About 1 hour from Vallejo is Cache Creek Casino. It is an Indian casino that is very popular
with the local Filipinos. Many Filipino stars have performed there including Gary V. About three hours
away is either Reno or Lake Tahoe. You could leave Vallejo in the morning, spend the whole day there,
then drive back.
Recreation - Vallejo has five excellent golf courses and nearby Napa has at least that many. There are
numerous hiking, biking and jogging trails around Vallejo. Many along our beautiful waterfront. Stinson
Beach is about an hour away where you can rent surfboards and boogie boards. The water os cold so
you'll also have to rent a wetsuit.
There are some great mountain biking trails nearby and for the more adventurous, you can canoe the
Russian River or take a white river rafting trip down the American River.
