Ciara
UPDATE: September 17, 2005
Hi Everyone,
It's been awhile since my last update on Ciara. Well, what can I say. Ciara is doing very well, considering the
intense treatments she had just went through. Ciara's chemo-therapy treatment had been delayed for
almost a month due to her blood counts being too low. This was right after the Torch Run. Ciara has
however lost most of her hair. At first, it was very shocking to us and Ciara. It didn't take too long for Ciara
to accept her new look. I explained to her that her sick hair needs to fall out so her new pretty hair can grow
in. This will happen twice to Ciara over the next six months. Ciara still won't let us cut the rest of what little
hair she has left. She enjoys brushing what little strands she still has. This week has been an exciting week
for Ciara and her sisters. They have been attending a week long day camp sponsored by the American
Cancer Society for children with cancer and their siblings. The girls can't wait go to camp again. The
program was featured on the local news yesterday and Ciara had her picture in the Long Beach
Press-Telegram. Chloe just started practices for cheer and dance for Lakewood pop warner and Cayla will
beginning another season of soccer. Along with the constant care for Ciara, we are making sure life goes on
as normal as possible for the rest of the girls. Thank you all again for your continuing thoughts and prayers.
We ask God to watch over all of you as you have asked Him to watch over Ciara and us. So far He is
listening and with our strong faith, He will continue to do so.
Keep Ciara close to your hearts as she keeps you close to hers.
Love,
Phillip, Ila, Chloe, Cayla, and especially Ciara
